Our conference captured in Four Strategic goals:
1
Highlight the interdisciplinary nature of global health, and the interconnectedness between the lack of access to essential medicines and human security in a rapidly changing and globalised world.
2
Emphasize the importance of and raise awareness about the lack of access to essential medicines and biomedical research throughout the developing world by presenting the facts in an unbiased manner and encouraging students to make their own decision.
3
Develop a set of implementable policy proposals that could theoretically be put into practice nationally.
4
Explore ways to engage with the issue locally and regionally/ highlight the work of regional groups and how to get involved.
Strategies to achieve goals (or How We Will Get There):
1
Creating a forum of discussion between policy makers, non-governmental organisations, academia and students.
2
Our conference is being inaugurated at a time when the landscape of international relations is changing, and healthcare delivery is starting to center around political and economic considerations.
3
This student-driven conference has brought together experts from various fields and initiated an interdisciplinary collaboration of the kind that has never been seen before, but will aim to continue into the future to address all aspects of global health.
